Broad, powerful, self-assured: you first become aware of the Touareg’s strong character from its dominant front. The vertical grille blends into the headlights, with chrome strips extending outwards from the central Volkswagen badge over the headlight lenses. The elongated bonnet boasts clean lines, giving the vehicle its sporty appearance.
And the rear does not fail to disappoint either: sculpted shoulders and broad tail light clusters underline its progressive look. The Touareg lettering is positioned self-confidently in the middle of the rear, with the black gloss roof spoilers and large chrome tailpipes completing its distinctive and dynamic look.

The cockpit of the future
The ambient light lends a pleasing atmosphere to the Touareg using indirect light. It is also available multi-coloured. Select from 30 different colours, depending on your mood or your passengers’ preferences. What about Dark Green, elegant Blue or powerful Red? The dash panel, centre console and doors all have an illuminated rim in a single colour. The indirect light also takes on the selected colour. And even more impressive: your selected colour is also incorporated in the digital displays when you opt for the Innovision Cockpit.
Tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof
Blue sky or bright stars above you: as soon as you open the door, you are greeted by a gentle light atmosphere, conveying a feeling of space and freedom, thanks to the large tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof. The sliding sunroof can be conveniently lifted and pushed open at the touch of a button, letting you enjoy the direct rays of the sun and even more fresh air on warmer days.
Decorative trims
The interior design of your Touareg not only has an impact on the atmosphere and ambience in the vehicle, but is also an expression of your personal taste. The standard “Cortina Silver” decorative trim stylishly adorns the centre console, dash panel and door trim. The decorative wood trim creates a stylish atmosphere, thanks to real wood and its unique texture. If you choose the Innovision Cockpit, the centre console of your Touareg will always feature a high-gloss Black finish.
Space and comfort
You and your passengers are sure to feel comfortable, as luxurious design meets exceptional functionality in the Touareg. The spacious luggage compartment and electrically operated rear lid ensure maximum flexibility.
No more switches
For the very first time in a Volkswagen, the digital instrument cluster, also known as the Digital Cockpit, is located with the screen of the Infotainment system behind a curved display, the driver-orientated Innovision Cockpit. This system offers maximum user-friendliness, as it can be operated by touch, voice and gesture control, without the need for mechanical switches, controls and buttons. The huge screen surface is used to display a wealth of functions using appealing graphics and animations. You can even customise the home screen with photos and your favourite function. Many displays can be enlarged using the zoom display, something that was not possible with conventional speedometers and screens.
Offroad package
Adapted driving characteristics thanks to extended driving mode selection. You have two additional options apart from the standard profiles: “Gravel” and “Sand”. You can therefore adapt the engine and gearbox, as well as the behaviour of certain assistance systems, to the driving conditions. 4MOTION all-wheel drive moves each wheel independently of the others and can therefore also ensure that the vehicle moves forward, even when all wheels are no longer touching the ground off-road.
The Offroad package also includes modifications that keep you moving when the going gets tough – including tank guard, radiator grille, vehicle battery protection and reinforced underseal. Driving in remote areas is enhanced by the larger tank, which holds 90 litres of fuel. And the optional towing package could also help to rescue other expedition parties.
Air suspension
The optional Air suspension literally provides the highest level of driving comfort on request. Whether you’re using “COMFORT”, “NORMAL” or “SPORT” driving profile – the Touareg lets you decide what type of driving experience you want. The vehicle can also be raised to provide up to 258 mm more ground clearance. What's more, the tail end can be lowered up to 50 mm below the standard level, for easier loading and unloading
There are also apps for your Touareg
There’s an app for everything. And many for the Touareg. App-Connect with Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay™ and MirrorLink® connects your smartphone to the Infotainment system in your vehicle. Once connected, selected apps on your mobile phone can be operated using the large touchscreen in the Touareg.
Volkswagen Media Control for Android and iOS can also involve your passengers, as they can remotely control the Infotainment system from a smartphone or tablet. So now music channels can be conveniently selected or navigation destinations transferred from your address book – even from the rear seats.
Driver assistance
The Touareg cannot fail to impress when it comes to technology as well, as it incorporates innovative driver assistance systems installed for the first time in a Volkswagen.
